Beekeeping Classes for Beginners, Intermediates & Advanced Students Alike!

BEGINNING BEEKEEPING (BEEK 101)

By far our most popular class, we teach complete newbees about the honey bee colony and its organization, various types of beekeeping equipment & apiary set-ups, how to source bees (buying package or nucleus colonies, collecting swarms), what to look for & how to manage maladies, colony management tasks by season, products from the hive, Do's & Don'ts, etc.!

BEEKEEPING EQUIPMENT CLASS

This class focuses on explaining the multitude of hive types available (e.g., Langstroth, Warre, top bar, long Lang, deep Lang, Flow Hive, A-Z hive, skeps), their similarities and differences; the protective clothing options; hive tools & accessories used in managing your colonies and various hive products.

EDUCATION & OUTREACH

In addition to the formal monthly meeting education program (being distributed via newsletters & quarterly Zoom calls during COVID), much of the learning takes place during informal discussions between beeks.  We're a diverse and lively group spanning many age groups & other demographics.  Subscribe to our email list so you'll know when we're next meeting!
